Rosscarbery Autumn School
Rosscarbery was once a monastic settlement. In more recent times it was the birthplace of O'Donovan Rossa, Michael Collins and Tom Barry. William Thompson a father figure of socialism established a commune here and Charlotte Townsend wife of George Bernard Shaw lived here.
The Rosscarbery Historical Society is organising an Autumn School from 28-30 September to translate this rich heritage into the needs of modern Ireland in political, social and economic terms.
