New Ireland Assurance
 Established in 1918, New Ireland Assurance was the first wholly Irish owned life assurance company to transact business in the country.
During the 1980s and 1990s it was part of the global UAP (and subsequently AXA-UAP) insurance group. However, since December 1997 it has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Bank of Ireland one of Ireland's largest and most successful financial groups.
