Kinsale Arts Festival
23 to 30 September 2001
To Commemorate the 400th Anniversary of the Battle of Kinsale (1601-2001) there will be a Spanish Theme to much of this years Programme and we look forward to the Official Opening when the flamboyant Spanish Flamenco dance troupe Flamenco y Mas will set the tone for this year's Festival. We have again secured the Irish Chamber Orchestra who will perform Vivaldi's Four Seasons in the magnificent setting of St Multose Church.
Other events include Hugh Tinney, renowned concert pianist Una Hunt - one of the doyen of Irish concert pianists will perform a programme of Spanish Classical music entitled Iberian Journey. Nuala O'Faolain - author. An Exhibition of Contemporary Art. Dorothy Walker- Irish Times Art Corespondent John Montague - Poet Conal Creedon - Novelist/Dramatist A presentation by Ian Lumley - An Taisce Patrick O'Sullivan - Author, Historian and Authority on the Lusitania
Festival Productions present "Deckchairs" - three one-act comedies directed by Irene Comerford Jones
